A Place for Worship, Preaching & Bible Study
The Gospel Hall is located in the Mid Ulster town of Magherafelt on the Hospital Road directly opposite the Court House. The present
hall was opened in 2007 replacing an older building which stood on the same site from 1889. As the name suggests, the hall is used for
the preaching of the gospel and as a place of meeting for a local group of Christians. This assembly exists for the purpose of being
a witness to the name, person and teaching of Jesus Christ for, according to the New Testament, a church is a congregation of believers
'who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord' (1 Cor 1 v 2).
'And He took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, "This is My body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of Me". Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new testament in My blood, which is shed for you" (luke 22 vs 19-20).
'I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine' (2 Timothy 4 vs 1-2).
'All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works' (2 Timothy 3 vs 16-17).
'The Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost'
Luke 19 v 10.
We are all travellers on the 'road of life',
Moving at the speed of time.
As our journey has a beginning, it will certainly have an end.
No matter how far we've travelled
Or how long we've been on the road,
Everyone finally arrives at the end,
Exits through the 'door of death' and enters the next 'world'.
The grave will hold my body,
But either Heaven or Hell will be the Eternal destiny of my soul -
Where I will be forever is my choice.
God has defined the options, I make the decision.
Choose Christ and begin travelling with Him today.
Then, when the end comes
You can look forward to a safe arrival in that heavenly land
Of glorious beauty and indescribable joy
Where every tear is wiped away and sorrow
Will never be known.
The identity of Jesus as the Son of God is the foundational truth of the gospel and Christianity. That He is "the Christ, the Son of the living God" (Matt 16 v 18), as the apostle Peter clearly stated, assures us that He is also Saviour, Lord & Judge. The gospel proclaims Him as the Saviour of sinners (1 Tim 1 v 15). This is why He came to this world and this is why He died upon the Cross. His resurrection from the dead shows He's Lord (Acts 2 v 36) and it is upon the Lord Jesus Christ we are called to be believe in order to be saved (Acts 16 v 31; Rom 10 v 9). He may be easy to dismiss now, but He will prove impossible to escape ultimately. God has both appointed the Day of Judgment and the Judge of that Day. The Father has 'committed all judgment unto the Son' (John 5 v 22). If we have denied Him and refused Him in this life we can only expect to realise the consequences of our actions when the Day of Judgment comes. Jesus said:
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live... Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear His voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation".
(John 5 vs 25, 28-29)
"And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved".
(John 3 vs 14-17)
